Christopher has over 15 years experience in the design and
manufacture of furnaces and foundry equipment, and in the installation and
commissioning of furnace equipment on site. His work has included specialist
metallurgical commissioning since 2004 for smelting and melting processes
including tin dross, tin ore, lead acid battery scrap reclamation, iron,
aluminium, bronze, brass and copper including copper
refining.
| Christopher’s specialist areas are in heat transfer, efficiency of heating and combustion, combustion monitoring, the design and application of heat exchanger technology, heat transfer in rotary furnace and rotary kiln processes, and the measurement and control of temperature in applications where temperature cannot be measured directly. He has been called to act as Expert Witness for GRD Minproc, amongst other expert rolls internationally, and frequently is engaged in providing impartial expert opinion on matters pertaining to thermal and mechanical engineering.
Following his training and experience as a Doctor of Engineering, Christopher maintains his position at the forefront of his field through attending conferences and seminars and through his links with the University of Sheffield where he worked on his PhD, and through his professional body the Institute of Cast Metal Engineers and the Engineering Council. He has a keen interest in furthering the technology of rotary furnaces and rotary kilns and in promoting the role that these technologies fulfil in lowering foundry energy consumption, CHP and waste heat recovery.
Aside from his professional commitments, Christopher is married with a young daughter and is expecting a son in July 2011. He enjoys outdoor activities including hill walking, sailing and skiing, and at home has interests in musical performance With a vast range of international experience, Christopher has become an expert in the field of Heat Treatment and Furnace Design. |
